FILM NOTES

A lively, fish-out-of-water comedy driven by faith, chaos and second chances.

There’s something immediately disarming about A Nun in the City: a character defined by routine suddenly cut loose into a world she barely understands. Under Frédéric Quiring’s direction, what begins as a simple mishap quickly spirals into a spirited urban odyssey, as Sister Lucie follows instinct rather than instruction for perhaps the first time in decades.

Man in Nature

The comedy thrives on contrast — innocence colliding with modern life, quiet devotion meeting noise and confusion — but beneath the humour runs a gentler thread about rediscovery. As Lucie retraces a path back to her past, the film opens up into something warmer and more reflective, suggesting that faith and freedom are not always at odds, and that sometimes the most unexpected detours lead exactly where you need to go.
