Man in Nature

Set against the warmth and colour of Puglia, the film leans into its comic potential, pairing two families with very different ways of life and watching the sparks fly. Misunderstandings, overreactions and social missteps pile up quickly, but at the centre is a recognisable emotional thread — the awkward, often funny process of families expanding and redefining themselves. Anchored by Fabio De Luigi’s expertly calibrated mix of control and chaos, the film delivers exactly what audiences have come to expect from the series: broad humour, sharp timing and a generous, feel-good spirit.

Film Notes

A lively, sun-soaked family comedy packed with chaos, charm and culture clashes.

Following the success of 10 Days Without Mamma and its sequel, Alessandro Genovesi brings the Rovelli family back for another round of domestic mayhem — this time swapping home turf for the sun-drenched landscapes of southern Italy. When Mum is Away… with the In-Laws builds on a familiar premise, but shifts the focus to that universal moment of change: a parent reluctantly letting go as a child steps into adulthood. Of course, in Carlo Rovelli’s case, letting go isn’t really on the table.
