FILM NOTES
A monstrously fun Halloween adventure from the stop-motion wizards at Aardman.
The latest feature from British animation powerhouse Aardman Studios, Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom is the third big-screen outing for the beloved silent sheep and his flock. Co-directed by Steve Cox and Matthew Walker, the film continues the series' signature wordless comedy, relying on expressive claymation, physical humour, and visual storytelling rather than dialogue. With 283 hand-built puppets and 47 detailed sets, the production showcases the meticulous craft that has made Aardman a global name in stop-motion animation, bringing the rolling English countryside of Mossy Bottom Farm to life with warmth and wit.
This is a delightful, gently spooky adventure perfect for the whole family, especially around Halloween. The film's playful mix of mad-scientist chaos, mistaken identity, and a mysterious beast on the loose keeps young viewers engaged, while the classic Aardman humour and charming visual gags will delight longtime fans. With its themes of teamwork, creativity, and looking after one's community, Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom is a warm-hearted, baa-rilliantly funny treat that proves once again why Shaun and his flock remain such enduring favourites.
