FILM NOTES
A wildly ambitious collision of ego, catastrophe and one man’s spectacular attempt to save the world from himself.
Written and directed by Alejandro G. Iñárritu, Digger centres on an immensely powerful man scrambling to contain a disaster of his own making. The filmmaker reunites with Birdman collaborators Nicolás Giacobone and Alexander Dinelaris, joined by Sabina Berman, for a darkly comic story about influence, self-mythology and the dangerous conviction that one exceptional individual can solve everything.
Tom Cruise leads an extraordinary ensemble including Sandra Hüller, John Goodman, Michael Stuhlbarg, Jesse Plemons and Riz Ahmed. Iñárritu’s taste for audacious spectacle meets Cruise’s fearless screen energy in a provocative big-screen experience balancing absurdity, urgency and emotional weight. Expect something unruly, cinematic and exhilaratingly difficult to predict.
