Lomu combines family archives, home video, match footage and new interviews to chart Jonah Lomu’s journey from Ha’apai and South Auckland through Wesley College and onto the global stage as the youngest All Black in history and the face of the professional era. Co-directed by Tongan filmmaker Vea Mafile’o and Irish documentarian Gavin Fitzgerald, the film foregrounds Pacific perspectives, faith and whānau, showing how Lomu’s Tongan identity and humble upbringing shaped both his career and the pressure he carried.
