This feature-length prequel reveals how Kiri, an excitable little dinosaur, first met Lou, a gentle creature with a wonderfully stretchy trunk. Handmade in paper and clay by Stretchy in Ōtautahi Christchurch, it is Aotearoa’s first stop-motion animated feature. Harry Sinclair’s playful storytelling is enriched by Antony Elworthy’s animation and original music from Don McGlashan.
Created for young viewers and their grown-ups, Kiri and Lou Go Raaa! carries the warmth, humour and emotional honesty of the beloved television series onto the big screen. Its colourful prehistoric landscapes, delightfully tactile characters and lively songs make for a gentle first cinema experience, while its celebration of empathy, courage and unexpected friendship offers plenty for the whole whānau to enjoy.
