A companion piece to The Man in the Hat, The Three Urns follows Mr O’Connor across the rugged northwest coast of Donegal. His unusual pilgrimage brings encounters with a Lithuanian painter, an itinerant priest, horse traders, mystics at the ancient Beltany Stone Circle and a Choctaw visitor commemorating the Great Famine. The film premiered at the Dublin International Film Festival.
Ciarán Hinds brings quiet warmth and wry humour to a widower gradually rediscovering the world around him. Filmed across more than 40 Donegal locations, the journey unfolds amid windswept roads, historic stone circles and luminous coastal landscapes.
